The uncoupled extruson of Na+ through the Na+ pump
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Biomembranes, 1973Abstract An ouabain-sensitive or cyanide-sensitive Na + efflux into media nominally free of Na + and K + has been reported in variety of animal cells. One possible explanation is that, under these peculiar circumstances, the Na + pump exchanges intracellular Na + for K + leaking out of the cells, the affinity for K + being highest in the ...

Na(3s)+Na+to Na(3p)+Na+differential scattering
Journal of Physics B: Atomic and Molecular Physics, 1984The author describes Na(3s) to Na(3p) transition induced by collision with Na+ via two-state rotational coupling at EK=37.5 eV in a semiclassical first-order Magnus approximation. Calculations are performed using several different data sets for the potential energies. It is found that recent pseudopotential values in which core polarisation is included
