Transition Temperatures of Thermotropic Liquid Crystals from the Local Binary Gray Level Cooccurrence Matrix

open access: yesAdvances in Condensed Matter Physics, 2012
This paper presents a method which combines the statistical analysis with texture structural analysis called Local Binary Gray Level Cooccurrence Matrix (LBGLCM) to investigate the phase transition temperatures of thermotropic p,n-alkyloxy benzoic acid ...

A PROPOSAL TO REFINE CONCEPT MAPPING FOR EFFECTIVE SCIENCE LEARNING [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Concept maps are found to be useful in eliciting knowledge, meaningful learning, evaluation of understanding and in studying the nature of changes taking place during cognitive development, particularly in the classroom.

Medicine for the Material World

open access: yesArchaeometry, Volume 68, Issue 3, Page 434-439, June 2026.
ABSTRACT It is clear that many of the inorganic materials of antiquity have been used both as medicines for human ills and also as agents in technological processes. This paper speculates that there might have been a stronger link between these two functions in the past, based on the concept of “active agents”—materials that are efficacious at curing ...

Ascorbic Acid Modulates Collagen Properties in Glucocorticoid‐Induced Osteoporotic Bone: Insights into Chemical, Mechanical, and Biological Regulation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 12, 25 March 2026.
Osteoporosis from long‐term glucocorticoid (GIOP) use elevates susceptibility to fracture. This study shows GCs impair ascorbic acid (AA) metabolism in osteoblasts, collagen synthesis and extracellular matrix integrity. AA enhanced collagen biochemical and mechanical properties and restored osteoblast and endothelial function. These findings underscore

Recapture, Transparency, Negation and a Logic for the Catuṣkoṭi [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The recent literature on Nāgārjuna’s catuṣkoṭi centres around Jay Garfield’s (2009) and Graham Priest’s (2010) interpretation. It is an open discussion to what extent their interpretation is an adequate model of the logic for the catuskoti, and the Mūla-

A Novel Area Efficient and High‐Speed BCD Adder Using CFA and Multiplexer in Quantum‐Dot Cellular Automata

open access: yesIEEJ Transactions on Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Volume 21, Issue 2, Page 226-234, February 2026.
This paper proposes a new enhanced Single Digit BCD Adder (SDBA) to perform decimal addition optimally. Quantum‐dot Cellular Automata (QCA) will construct nanostructured arithmetic circuits for future computing. One of the vital structures in arithmetic structures is the Binary Coded Decimal (BCD)/Decimal Adder. The existing Decimal Adders require many

Layers in the Fabric of Mind: A Critical Review of Cognitive Ontogeny [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The essay is critically examines the conceptual problems with the influential modularity model of mind. We shall see that one of the essential characters of modules, namely informational encapsulation, is not only inessential, it ties a knot at a crucial

Assessing Habitat Suitability and Range Dynamics of Syzygium alternifolium (Wight) Walp Under Future Climatic Scenarios

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
We modeled the current and future habitat suitability of the endangered tree species Syzygium alternifolium using MaxEnt under two climate scenarios (SSP245 and SSP585) for 2050 and 2070. The model showed high accuracy (AUC = 0.93), with significant future range expansion projected outside protected areas, highlighting urgent conservation gaps.
