Disruption of Sulfur Metabolism and Redox Homeostasis in Staphylococcus aureus Using Mechanically Robust Antibiofilm Ti‐Bi Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Titanium (Ti) and bismuth (Bi) are selected as alloying elements for the preparation of the Ti‐Bi binary alloy system. Biofilm formation is found to be inhibited by bismuth through the disruption of sulfur metabolism and redox homeostasis, as well as through the direct downregulation of biofilm‐associated proteins.

Entrapment Behavior of Solid Surrogate Fission Products at Engineered UN Nano‐Hetero‐Interfaces Within Metallic Nuclear Fuels

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This work endeavors to engineer uranium mononitride (UN) nanostructures within a metallic nuclear fuel (U─Mo), in order to trap potential fission products (Nd). From consolidation of the nanostructured U─Mo powders all the way to 1000 h at reactor‐like temperatures (500 °C), Nd preferentially migrates to nanostructure boundaries (hetero‐interfaces ...

Antibody‐Functionalized DNA Hydrogels Recognize and Isolate Living Tumor Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
We present a novel strategy using DNA Y‐motif nanostar hydrogels and DNA‐functionalized antibodies for precise live‐cell manipulation. Target cells are labeled with DNA sticky ends that hybridize with DNA Y‐motifs, enabling their incorporation and capture within the hydrogel during self‐assembly.

Keratin‐Based Skin‐Tone Camouflage Coating for Aesthetic Integration of Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Keratin‐based coatings provide skin‐tone camouflage for perovskite solar cells, enabling aesthetic integration while maintaining reasonable photovoltaic performance. Three formulations: pure keratin, keratin–melanin, and keratin‐KerMel, offer UV protection, mechanical robustness, and enhanced stability.
