Energy Optimal Transmission Scheduling in Wireless Sensor Networks

open access: yes, 2010
One of the main issues in the design of sensor networks is energy efficient communication of time-critical data. Energy wastage can be caused by failed packet transmission attempts at each node due to channel dynamics and interference.

Evolution of Peripheral Visual System in the Apoidea: A Role for Food Item Mobility?

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 5, May 2026.
Since larger compound eyes and ocelli altogether improve vision, one may expect that insects specialised in chasing very mobile resources possess such morphological optimisation. By analysing 77 species of bees and wasps, we have found that wasps had larger eyes, but not larger ocelli, than bees.

Flow‐Through Hollow Fiber Gas Diffusion Electrodes with Morphology‐Controlled In Situ Galvanic Grown Silver Catalysts for Enhanced CO Selectivity in CO2 Electroreduction

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, Volume 9, Issue 3, May 2026.
The flow‐through hollow fiber gas diffusion electrodes can continuously deliver CO2 to catalytic sites to suppress the hydrogen evolution reaction, while the abundant 2D silver nanosheet structure enhances *COOH intermediate adsorption, promoting the electrochemical conversion of CO2 to CO.
