Studies on texture and formability of Zircaloy-4 produced by pilgering route

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2019
Zircaloy-4 is a widely used material in nuclear industries due to its excellent corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures, low neutron absorption cross section and balanced strength and ductility.

Study of the Formability of Laminated Lightweight Metallic Materials

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2017
The main objective of this work was to test the formability of laminated materials. Laminated materials are considered a good choice when parts with reduced weight are considered. Thus, a laminated material, aluminum - polypropylene - aluminum (Al-PP-Al),

Development of a Pneumatic High Speed Nakajima Testing Device

open access: yes, 2012
Forming limit diagrams are an essential tool for describing the formability of sheet materials in the deep-drawing process. Here, the well known and frequently employed procedures are the Nakajima and the Marciniak-Tests. Whereas these procedures' standardisation is quite advanced in the quasi-static range, numerous different test procedures exist in ...

A dieless Nakajima test for additively deposited materials

open access: yesMaterials Research Proceedings
Abstract. This paper focuses on a novel Nakajima test for characterizing the formability of additively deposited materials without extracting sheet blanks. Material is deposited by wire-arc additive manufacturing in the form of ‘Π-shaped’ vertical walls, and the testing regions are then machined to the desired thickness and shapes for subsequent ...

Experimental Material Characterization and Formability studies on Aluminium Alloy (AA 8011) [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Operations for sheet metal shaping are essential to the production of many different kinds of goods. But there is still a problem with plastic fragility in this industry, which frequently results in faulty goods.

Investigation of non-proportional load paths by using a cruciform specimen in a conventional Nakajima test

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
Abstract The prediction of necking in sheet-metal forming is one of the most important tasks in the simulation of forming processes. The most common way to predict the necking for linear load paths is the Forming Limit Diagram (FLD) according to ISO 12004-2. This criterion is valid only for linear load paths. For non-proportional loading

Backpropagation Through Soft Body: Investigating Information Processing in Brain–Body Coupling Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This study explores how information processing is distributed between brains and bodies through a codesign approach. Using the “backpropagation through soft body” framework, brain–body coupling agents are developed and analyzed across several tasks in which output is generated through the agents’ physical dynamics.

Return‐To‐Work and Working Status After Surgery for Gastric and Esophageal Cancer: A Prospective Observational Study

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
In this multicenter prospective study of 158 working‐age patients undergoing curative‐intent surgery for gastric or esophageal cancer, 78.5% were working at 18 months. Postoperative appetite loss, financial difficulties, and ≥ 10% weight loss at 6 months were associated with non‐working status.
