Naked singularities and Seifert’s conjecture [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 1999
It is shown that for a general nonstatic spherically symmetric metric of the Kerr-Schild class several energy-momentum complexes give the same energy distribution as in the Penrose prescription, obtained by Tod. This result is useful for investigating the Seifert conjecture for naked singularities.

Gravitational deflection of massive body around naked singularity

open access: yesNuclear Physics B
Spacetime singularity is not observed directly as it is covered by event horizon. Naked singularities may be formed due to gravitational collapse without an event horizon. Therefore, cosmic censorship conjecture entails advanced ascertainment.

ON OBSERVATIONAL PHENOMENA RELATED TO KERR SUPERSPINARS

open access: yesActa Polytechnica, 2014
We investigate possible signatures of a Kerr naked singularity (superspinar) in various observational phenomena. It has been shown that Kerr naked singularities (superspinars) have to be efficiently converted to a black hole due to accretion from ...

A Cylindrically Symmetric and Static Anisotropic Fluid Spacetime and the Naked Singularity

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2018
A cylindrically symmetric and static solution of Einstein’s field equations was presented. The spacetime is conformally flat and regular everywhere except on the symmetry axis where it possesses a naked curvature singularity.

CONFORMAL TRANSFORMATIONS NEAR NAKED SINGULARITIES: I [PDF]

open access: yesModern Physics Letters A, 2002
We show that the behaviour of the outgoing radial null geodesic congruence on the boundary of the trapped region (suitably defined as a four dimensional region) is related to the property of nakedness in spherical dust collapse. The argument involves a conformal transformation which justifies the difference in the Penrose diagrams in the naked and ...

LINC01116, a hypoxia‐lncRNA marker of pathological lymphangiogenesis and poor prognosis in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The LINC01116 long noncoding RNA is induced by hypoxia and associated with poor prognosis and high recurrence rates in two cohorts of lung adenocarcinoma patients. Here, we demonstrate that besides its expression in cancer cells, LINC01116 is markedly expressed in lymphatic endothelial cells of the tumor stroma in which it participates in hypoxia ...

Does a primary hair have an impact on the naked singularity formation in hairy Vaidya spacetime?

open access: yesPhysics of Complex Systems
We consider the gravitational collapse of Vaidya spacetime, which has been obtained using the gravitational decoupling method. In this paper, we are interested in whether a primary hair has any impact on the endstate of the gravitational collapse.

Gravitational collapse in Rastall gravity

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 2019
We study spherically symmetric gravitational collapse of a homogeneous perfect fluid in Rastall gravity. Considering a linear equation of state (EoS) for the fluid profiles, we examine the conditions under which the collapse scenario could end in a ...

Tidal forces in naked singularity backgrounds [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 2015
The end stage of a gravitational collapse process can generically result in a black hole or a naked singularity. Here we undertake a comparative analysis of the nature of tidal forces in these backgrounds. The effect of such forces is generically exemplified by the Roche limit, which predicts the distance within which a celestial object disintegrates ...
