One or More Species of Pacific Tree Frogs? Insights From Vocal Sexual Signals
Ecology and Evolution, Volume 15, Issue 10, October 2025.We investigated patterns of geographic variation in mating calls and how they relate to genetic and environmental distances among nine populations of Pacific tree frogs. We show that variation in the mating calls is better explained by mitochondrial lineage than by geographic or environmental distances among populations.
