Abstract Hydrothermal activity during continental breakup and early oceanic spreading is poorly understood due to limited samples. A basalt‐hosted hydrothermal mineralization, drilled during IODP Expedition 367/368 at the northern South China Sea at the continent‐ocean transition provides a unique opportunity to investigate this phenomenon.

Calcareous nannofossil biostratigraphy of Sarcheshmeh and Sanganeh formations in the west of Kopet-Dagh Basin, Sheikh Section [PDF]
The Kopet-Dagh Basin is located in the north and north east of Iran, within the border triangle of Iran, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. Sediments of Cretaceous age are well exposed in this basin.

Abstract The climate–weathering feedback exerts a vital role in long‐term planetary habitability. However, its operational timescales remain unclear due to challenges in quantifying past weathering intensity, especially in marine sediments—the final sink of continental weathering fluxes. Using Holocene Mediterranean sediments as a test case, we examine

The equatorial Pacific High-Productivity Belt: Elements for a Synthesis of Deep Sea Drilling Project Leg 85 Resultspaleoceanography [PDF]
Leg 85 of the Deep Sea Drilling Project operated in the eastern central Pacific in the region of the equatorial highproductivity belt. We recovered uppermost Eocene to Quaternary reference sections amenable to fine-scale stratigraphic and ...

New insights on the Sorbas Basin (SE Spain): the onshore reference of the Messinian Salinity Crisis [PDF]
International audienceThe Sorbas Basin is the land reference of the Messinian Salinity Crisis (MSC) that affected the Mediterranean Sea in the latest Miocene. Its stratigraphy has been re-visited using calcareous nannofossils and planktonic foraminifers,
