Nano-Composits Using Silicate Layers.
Nanoscale structure control by an intercalation method was reviewed. An open ring polymerization of e-caprolaclam in interlayer spaces of layered clay mineral; montmorillonite, caused the indefinite swelling of silicate layers to form a nanoscale composit of 6-nylon and silicate layers of clay minerals.

Novel nano‐composite particles: titania‐coated silica cores
PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to develop methods to produce white composite pigments consisting of a silica core with a titania shell.Design/methodology/approachSilica cores were coated with titanium dioxide (TiO2) via forced hydrolysis of a solution prepared from titanium tetrachloride (TiCl4). The morphology, surface charge and particle size of

Graphene nano-ribbon under tension
The mechanical response of graphene nano-ribbon under tensile loading has been investigated using atomistic simulation. Lattice symmetry dependence of elastic properties are found, which fits prediction from Cauchy-Born rule well.

Settling of bentonite in gelatine solutions [PDF]
New Zealand has a sizeable meat by-products processing industry, associated with significant aqueous effluent called stickwater. Stickwater has a biological oxygen demand of 50-150 g O₂/l and has to be treated prior to disposal.
