Nano-mechanical signature of brain tumours

Nanoscale, 2016
Glioblastoma (GBM) and meningothelial meningioma (MM) are the most frequent malignant and benign brain lesions, respectively. Mechanical cues play a major role in the progression of both malignancies that is modulated by the occurrence of aberrant physical interactions between neoplastic cells and the extracellular matrix (ECM). Here we investigate the

Nano-mechanical Properties

2018
With the development of production from shale oil and shale gas in North America during the last decade, more studies are being conducted in order to improve our knowledge of the shale characteristics. In this chapter, we talk about mechanical properties of shale samples in micro- and nano-scale.

Functionalization Protocols of Silicon Micro/Nano-mechanical Biosensors

2013
Functionalization is a key element in biodetection technologies such as micro/nano-mechanical sensors. Since assay sensitivity and stability drastically depends on a proper bioreceptor immobilization, the sensing surface must be first chemically modified with uniform, well-packed, and robust layers.

Tunable response nano-mechanical beam resonator

Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 2005
A theoretical proposal is made to dynamically tune the frequency response function of a nano-mechanical beam resonator. The resonator is excited by a magneto-motive drive mechanism. The resonator features multiple drive electrodes with the ability to control the phase and magnitude of the excitation force at each electrode.
