Design, Development and Performance Evaluation of Bio-Degradable Nano Cutting Fluid

Advanced Science Letters, 2018
Various cutting fluids are available in cutting fluid market to provide good machining performances for metal cutting industries. Incidentally, most of the cutting fluids are synthetic and semi synthetic in nature, though they are beneficial to the industries but they are posing health and environmental issues.

Analysis of surface roughness and cutting force under MQL turning using nano fluids

Materials Today: Proceedings, 2021
Abstract An experimental investigation was carried out to analyze the effects of cutting conditions, and nano coolant on the cutting force and surface roughness in the minimum quantity lubrication turning of the alloy steel AISI 4340. In the present research work, a curve fitting technique is used for the prediction of cutting force and surface ...

Use of nano-droplet-enriched cutting fluid (NDCF) in ultra-precision machining

The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2015
Nano-droplet-enriched cutting fluid (NDCF) demonstrates a linear spreading rate when measured by a contact angle goniometer. The spreading continues beyond that a conventional goniometer can measure. Such thinness allows NDCF to penetrate deep into the tool-chip and tool-workpiece interfaces to affect the lubrication.

Optimisation of Parameters in Turning Using Herbal Based Nano Cutting Fluid with MQL

Materials Today: Proceedings, 2020
Abstract This paper focuses on finding the optimum value of cutting force Fz while turning of AISI 1045 steel using Al2O3 nano particles synthesised via herbal process with minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) technique. The process parameters considered are MQL flow rate, volume concentration of nano particles, speed, feed rate and depth of cut (DOC).

Effects of Cutting Fluid with Nano Particles on the Grinding of Titanium Alloys

Advanced Materials Research, 2010
The use of cutting fluid containing nano particles in wet grinding and MQL grinding of Ti-6A1-4V is studied. For comparison purpose, experiments by applying the general purpose water-based cutting fluid are also conducted. The loading of the grinding wheel and morphology of the ground surface are observed, and the grinding forces and roughness of the ...
