Performance Investigation of MQL Parameters Using Nano Cutting Fluids in Hard Milling
Machining difficult-to-cut materials is one of the increasingly concerned issues in the metalworking industry. Low machinability and high cutting temperature generated from the contact zone are the main obstacles that need to be solved in order to ...

Manipulation and assembly of nanowires with holographic optical traps
We demonstrate that semiconductor nanowires measuring just a few nanometers in diameter can be translated, rotated, cut, fused and organized into nontrivial structures using holographic optical traps.

Microfocus X-ray scattering investigations of eggshell nanotexture [PDF]
The avian eggshell is a highly ordered calcitic bioceramic composite, with both inorganic and organic constituents. The interactions between the inorganic and organic components within the structure are poorly understood but are likely to occur at the ...

AbstractThe purpose of cutting fluids in metal cutting process is to provide cooling and reduce the friction between tool and work piece at the shear zone. In dry cutting, the work piece is machined under dry conditions. The air surrounding the work piece acts as the cooling agent. Since air has low thermal conductivity it acts as a poor coolant.

Performance evaluation of alumina-graphene hybrid nano-cutting fluid in hard turning [PDF]
Abstract A hybrid nanofluid (NF) with better thermal and tribological properties has been developed in this investigation by mixing alumina-based nanofluid with graphene nanoplatelets (GnP) in the volumetric concentrations of 0.25, 0.75 and 1.25 vol %. It was noted that an increase of nanoparticle concentration enhances both, the thermal conductivity
