Heat Transfer Characteristics of Nano-Fluids
Materials Science Forum, 2013Nanofluids are engineered colloids made of a base fluid and nanoparticles, which become potential candidate for next generation heat transfer medium. Nanofluids have higher thermal conductivity and single-phase heat transfer coefficients than their base fluids. The use of additives is a technique applied to enhance the heat transfer performance of base

Nano Fluids and Critical Heat Flux
ASME 2008 First International Conference on Micro/Nanoscale Heat Transfer, Parts A and B, 2008In recent years nanofluids have been attracting significant attention in the heat transfer research community. These fluids are obtained by suspending nanoparticles having sizes between 1 and 100 nm in regular fluids. It was found by several researchers that the thermal conductivity of these fluids can be significantly increased when compared to the ...

Angular Trapping of Anisometric Nano-Objects in a Fluid
Nano Letters, 2012We demonstrate the ability to trap, levitate, and orient single anisometric nanoscale objects with high angular precision in a fluid. An electrostatic fluidic trap confines a spherical object at a spatial location defined by the minimum of the electrostatic system free energy. For an anisometric object and a potential well lacking angular symmetry, the

MR FLUIDS WITH NANO-SIZED MAGNETIC PARTICLES
International Journal of Modern Physics B, 1996Recently magnetorheological fluids with nanosized magnetic ferrite particles have become available. Their composition, rheological and magnetic properties are described. A comparison with conventional MR fluids based on micron-sized particles is given. The yield stress of nano-MR fluids can be increased by a moderate magnetic field (0,2 T) by 4000 Pa.

Nano liquid-metal fluid as ultimate coolant
Physics Letters A, 2007We proposed for the first time the concept of the nano liquid-metal fluid, aiming to establish an engineering route to make the highest conductive coolant. Using several widely accepted theoretical models for characterizing the nano fluid, the thermal conductivity enhancement of the liquid-metal fluid due to addition of more conductive nano particles ...

Drug Delivery System Using Nano-Magnetic Fluid
2008 3rd International Conference on Innovative Computing Information and Control, 2008Nano-size magnetic magnetide is considered important for various medical applications. Dynamic motion of the magnetic particle is investigated in two essential models from a theoretical point of view. One is a drag model of the magnetic particle in an artery. The second is a pull model towards the surface of artery.
