Circuit Electromechanics with a Non-Metallized Nanobeam
We have realized a nano-electromechanical hybrid system consisting of a silicon nitride beam dielectrically coupled to a superconducting microwave resonator. We characterize the sample by making use of the Duffing nonlinearity of the strongly driven beam.

Aluminum nitride as a new material for chip-scale optomechanics and nonlinear optics
Silicon photonics has offered a versatile platform for the recent development of integrated optomechanical circuits. However, silicon is limited to wavelengths above 1100 nm and does not allow device operation in the visible spectrum range where low ...

Abstract In this study, a comprehensive analytical framework is developed to investigate the free vibration behavior of double‐walled carbon nanotubes (DWCNTs) resting on an elastic foundation, based on Eringen's nonlocal elasticity theory. The DWCNTs are modeled as two coupled Euler–Bernoulli (EB) beams, explicitly incorporating intertube van der ...

Shock metamorphic effects in Itokawa phosphates: A comparison with megaregolith‐derived meteorites
Abstract Returned regolith samples from the asteroid Itokawa provide a unique opportunity to compare shock metamorphic effects in unconsolidated regolith materials with those preserved in lithified meteorites, that is, megaregolith. We analyzed four Itokawa particles (Ueda—RA‐QD02‐0519, Narahara—RA‐QD02‐0573, Domon—RA‐QD02‐0588, Ishiuchi—RX‐MD03‐0212 ...

Multiply resonant high quality photonic crystal nanocavities
We propose and experimentally demonstrate a photonic crystal nanocavity with multiple resonances that can be tuned nearly independently. The design is composed of two orthogonal intersecting nanobeam cavities.

A nonlocal elasticity theory to model the static behaviour of edge-cracked nanobeams
In the present paper, the mechanical behaviour of edge-cracked nanobeams under Mixed-Mode loading is analytically investigated by means of the Stress-Driven nonlocal model. Firstly, the proposed formulation is outlined, and then applied to the case of a
