Multiply-charged ion nanobeams
International Journal of Nanotechnology, 2008Due to the strong evolution in the field of nanotechnologies and the continuous miniaturisation of electronic components, multiply-charged ion nanobeams would be a promising tool in this field of research. Either for surface modification or local (nanometer scale) surface analysis purposes, studying the feasibility of such beams is of strong interest ...

Optimized aperiodic nanobeam lasers
2015 11th Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Pacific Rim (CLEO-PR), 2015We demonstrated lasing action at aperiodic nanobeam cavities composed of two different air holes at room temperature. As the size ratio of two holes is changed, different type of optical modes is selected for lasing.

Diamond Nanobeam Waveguide Optomechanics
CLEO: 2015, 2015Single crystal diamond (SCD) waveguide nanomechanical resonators with mechanical quality factors exceeding 7 × 105 in cryogenic conditions are demonstrated. Mechanical self-oscillations are observed with amplitudes of 200 nm.

Dynamic Analysis of a Viscoelastic Nanobeam
Key Engineering Materials, 2019Vibration of an axially loaded viscoelastic nanobeam is analyzed in this study. Viscoelasticity of the nanobeam is modeled as a Kelvin-Voigt material. Equation of motion and boundary conditions for viscoelastic nanobeam are provided with help of Eringen’s Nonlocal Elasticity Theory.

GaAs nanobeam piezo-optomechanical crystals
CLEO: 2015, 2015We demonstrate GaAs optomechanical crystals with large coupling rates (g 0 /2π ≈1.1MHz) through the photoelastic effect. We show a significant (≈30%) orientation dependence of g 0 , observe 2.5 GHz regenerative oscillations, and explore excitation via piezoelectrically-driven surface-acoustic-waves.

The objective of the pioneers of molecular-beam chemistry [1] was, in the first place, to do chemistry under single-collision conditions, where all but the primary reactive events were eliminated. Their second aim was to localise the collision events in space, so that the speeds and angular distributions of the scattered species could be measured with ...

Controlling Fano resonances in photonic crystal nanobeams side-coupled with nanobeam cavities
Asia Communications and Photonics Conference, 2017In this paper, we numerically study asymmetric Fano line shape realized in a photonic crystal nanobeam (PCN) side-coupled with a photonic crystal nanobeam cavity (PCNC). The Fano resonances can be controlled by the photonic band gap of the PCN. If changing the symmetry of cavity mode, the Fano line shape can also be changed correspondingly.

Synthesis and Electrical Characterization of Silver Nanobeams
Nano Letters, 2006By slowing the rate of atomic addition to singly twinned seeds, we have grown silver nanobeams with lengths of 3-30 mum, widths ranging from 17 to 70 nm, and a width to thickness ratio of 1.4. The well-defined dimensions, smooth surface, and crystallinity of nanobeams make them promising candidates for studying the effects of size on electron transport.
