Shear Effects in Elastic Nanobeams
2020Small-scale, shear deformable nanobeams, subjected to quasi-static loads, are analyzed by a nonlocal (integral) elasticity model with the main goal to evaluate the influence of shear deformation on size effects. To this aim a warping parametric model is considered in order to obtain a continuous family of shear deformable beam models which span from ...

3C-SiC Nanobeam Optomechanical Crystals
CLEO: 2014, 2014We report the first demonstration of high-quality (Qi ~2.8-3.2x10^3) 3C silicon carbide photonic crystal nanobeams. With the strong optomechanical coupling (gOM/2p~100 GHz/nm), we observed clear optical transduction of the thermal mechanical motion of the couple-nanobeam.

On-Chip Topological Photonic Crystal Nanobeam Filters
Nano LettersWe present an on-chip filter with a broad tailorable working wavelength and a single-mode operation. This is realized through the application of topological photonic crystal nanobeam filters employing synthesis parameter dimensions. By introducing the translation of air holes as a new synthetic parameter dimension, we obtained nanobeams with tunable ...

Bending behaviour of carbon nanobeams
2014The bending problem of micro and nanobeams based on the Eringen nonlocal elasticity theory and gradient elastic model is addressed. The variational formulations associated with the two models are consistently provided starting from the free energy. Then the governing differential equations and the related boundary conditions are derived.
