Nanobeams with Internal Discontinuities: A Local/Nonlocal Approach
The aim of the present work is to extend the two-phase local/nonlocal stress-driven integral model (SDM) to the case of nanobeams with internal discontinuities: as a matter of fact, the original formulation avoids the presence of any discontinuities ...

Analysis of Large Deflection of Nanobeams with Circular Cross Section under Distributed Load Taking into Surface Effects [PDF]
In the present study, the large deflection of nanobeams with surface effects has been investigated. The surface effects are modeled by using the generalized Young–Laplace equation.

Electrically driven nanobeam laser [PDF]
The realization of lasers as small as possible has been one of the long-standing goals of the laser physics and quantum optics communities. Among multitudes of recent small cavities, the one-dimensional nanobeam cavity has been actively investigated as one of the most attractive candidates for effective photon confinement thanks to its simple geometry.

Longitudinal Vibration of Nanobeams by Two-Phase Local/Nonlocal Elasticity, Rayleigh Theory, and Generalized Differential Quadrature Method [PDF]
To solve a differential equation of motion via more reliable procedures, it is essential to realize their efficiency. Whether Rayleigh's theory can be a compatible platform with two-phase local/nonlocal elasticity to render more reliable results compared

Programmable photonic crystal nanobeam cavities
We present dynamically reconfigurable photonic crystal nanobeam cavities, operating at ~1550 nm, that can be continuously and reversibly tuned over a 9.5 nm wavelength range. The devices are formed by two coupled nanobeam cavities, and the tuning is achieved by varying the lateral gap between the nanobeams.

Nonlocal Mechanical Behavior of Layered Nanobeams [PDF]
The research at hand deals with the mechanical behavior of beam-like nanostructures. Nanobeams are assembled of multiple layers of different materials and geometry giving a layered nanobeam. To properly address experimentally noticed size effects in structures of this type, an adequate nonlocal elasticity formulation must be applied.

Nonlinear vibration control with nanocapacitive sensor for electrostatically actuated nanobeam
The model of a clamped–clamped Euler–Bernoulli beam is presented in order to study nonlinear vibration control of electrostatically actuated nanobeam with nanocapacitive sensor, considering primary and superharmonic resonances.
