Nanocatalysts for Electrocatalytic Oxidation of Ethanol

ChemSusChem, 2019
AbstractThe use of ethanol as a fuel in direct alcohol fuel cells depends not only on its ease of production from renewable sources, but also on overcoming the challenges of storage and transportation. In an ethanol‐based fuel cell, highly active electrocatalysts are required to break the C−C bond in ethanol for its complete oxidation at lower ...

Automobile exhaust nanocatalysts

2022
The exhaust emissions from automobiles have been attracted significant attention as a source of air pollution and contribute to global warming. The major concerns of vehicle exhaust contaminants are carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons (HC), nitrogen oxides (NOx), and carbon dioxide (CO2).

Nanocatalysts Fabricated by a Dealloying Method

The Chemical Record, 2015
AbstractTwo types of nanomaterials with different morphologies are described in this article: nanoporous metals and titanate nanowires. Both materials are fabricated by a dealloying method. In the former case, the catalytic properties of nanoporous gold and palladium are exemplified by many chemical transformations.

Nanocatalysts based on dendrimers

Pure and Applied Chemistry, 2009
Nanostructured regular materials based on dendrimers bound by covalent or coordination bonds between surface functional groups were synthesized. Bimetallic Cu(II) and Pd(II) metal complexes with nitrile-based dendrimers demonstrated high activity in Wacker oxidation of terminal alkenes along with good selectivity for methylketone formation.

Application of Nanocatalysts in Multi-Component Reactions

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2013
Different types of nanoparticles are efficiently able to catalyze the synthesis of some of the important organic compounds via multi-component reactions. All reactions are performed under mild conditions and the products are obtained in high yields in short reaction times.

Nanocatalysts: Fascinating Opportunities

2014
Nanoparticles have been used as catalyst in the industry since the beginning of the twentieth century, though the nanoscale mechanisms were not fully understood at that time. Catalysts are important because they facilitate chemical reactions.
