High‐Quality Epitaxial Five‐Layer Aurivillius Films with In‐Plane Ferroelectricity for Electrocaloric Cooling

High‐quality epitaxial five‐layer Sr2Bi4Ti5O18Aurivillius films are grown on SrTiO3 by pulsed laser deposition. The electrocaloric effect derived from measurements of the in‐plane ferroelectric polarization reveals a maximum temperature change of ΔT ∼ 0.95 °C under an electric field of 150 kV cm⁻¹ at 135 °C.

Improving the Efficiency of a Bioreactor Equipped With Mixed‐Flow Impellers

The present work investigated the biological performance of mixed‐flow impellers. To the authors’ knowledge, this is the first experimental study on such impellers in a fermentation process using A. vinelandii, which was chosen as a microorganism due to its high oxygen demand.

Controlling Lampenflora in Heritage Sites: In Situ Testing of Polyoxometalate–Ionic Liquids in the Pommery Champagne Cellar

The article evaluates polyoxometalate–ionic liquids (POM–ILs) as biocidal agents against lampenflora in the UNESCO‐listed Pommery Champagne cellar. POM–ILs effectively inhibit microbial colonization over one year with minimal visual impact and outperform the commercial biocide Preventol RI80.

Amphiphilic block copolymers with degradable ureido‐functionalized polycarbonate segments self‐assemble into spherical micelles in water, exhibiting an intriguing upper critical solution temperature (UCST) behavior. Upon heating, these micelles swell, collapse, and reorganize into highly hydrated condensates that mimic polymeric nanogels.
