Zero field spin splitting in AlSb/InAs/AlSb quantum wells induced by surface proximity effects
InAs quantum well heterostructures are of considerable interest for mesoscopic device applications such as scanning probe and magnetic recording sensors, which require the channel to be close to the surface.

Domain Wall Rebounds Driven by Competing Entropic and Spin‐Transfer Torques in Cylindrical Nanowires
Domain‐wall motion in cylindrical magnetic nanowires driven by nanosecond current pulses. Low current densities efficiently displace domain walls, whereas higher currents cause rebound at the wire ends. The effect results from the interplay between spin‐transfer torque and thermally induced processes, highlighting the role of thermal gradients in ...

High-Order Harmonic Generation from the Cu(111) surface [PDF]
We investigate theoretically the origin behind the formation of the plateau and cutoff structures in the high-harmonic spectra produced after the interaction of a near-infrared laser pulse with a metal surface. We use a wave packet propagation scheme and

Ultrasmall Platinum Nanoparticles for Radiation‐Enhanced Cancer Therapy
This work proposes a nanomedicine‐based strategy to enhance X‐ray radiotherapy for cancer treatment. Ultrasmall Pt‐NPs exhibit catalase‐like activity that may contribute to modulation of the tumor microenvironment and amplify interactions between radiation and biological matter, leading to increased DNA damage.

Responsible Research and Innovation between \u201cnew governance\u201d and fundamental rights [PDF]
This chapter frames RRI as an emerging governance approach in the EU regulatory context. We argue that reference to fundamental rights makes RRI a distinctive approach to responsibility compared to other existing paradigms and that human rights, in ...

Copper–Collagen Interactions Regulate the Mechanical and Invasive Properties of Tumor Spheroids
Ionic copper is investigated as a modulator of tumor spheroid growth and invasiveness in a 3D microfluidic glioblastoma model. Copper exposure alters metabolic activity, cytoskeletal organization, protrusion dynamics, and EMT‐related phenotypes in a dose‐ and timing‐dependent manner, revealing how copper bioavailability shapes tumor aggressiveness ...

π‐Enlargement in Porphyrin Macrocycles at Interfaces
On‐surface synthesis of a 20‐π free‐base expanded porphyrin, by depositing onto a hot Ag(111) substrate an 18‐π free‐base precursor equipped with ‐CF3 functional groups ABSTRACT Porphyrins are essential heteroatomic macrocycles, fundamental to both biological systems and advanced technology.
