Novel hybrid photosensitizers: Photoactive polymer–nanoclay

open access: yesJournal of Photochemistry and Photobiology A: Chemistry, 2010
A new type of hybrid photosensitizers was obtained by efficient adsorption of a photoactive polymer by an organically modified nanoclay. The polymer bore naphthyl and rose bengal chromophores, which absorbed light both in the ultraviolet and visible spectral region. Adsorption of the polymer on nanoclay prevented aggregation of chromophores.

Corrosion protection mechanisms of carbon steel by an epoxy resin containing indole-3 butyric acid modified clay [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This work is an extension of studies into the mechanisms of corrosion protection of mild steel by an epoxy resin containing organically modified clay (Hang et al. [1]; Truc et al. [2]). In a previous study (Truc et al.

Occupational exposure limits for manufactured nanomaterials, a systematic review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The toxicological properties of manufactured nanomaterials (MNMs) can be different from their bulk-material and uncertainty remains about the adverse health effects they may have on humans. Proposals for OELs have been put forward which can be useful for

Incineration of Nanoclay Composites Leads to Byproducts with Reduced Cellular Reactivity

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
Addition of nanoclays into a polymer matrix leads to nanocomposites with enhanced properties to be used in plastics for food packaging applications. Because of the plastics’ high stored energy value, such nanocomposites make good candidates for disposal ...

Ultrasonic Production of Nano-Size Dispersions and Emulsions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Ultrasound is a well-established method for particle size reduction in dispersions and emulsions. Ultrasonic processors are used in the generation of nano-size material slurries, dispersions and emulsions because of the potential in the deagglomeration ...
