On the evolution of the non exchange spring behaviour to the exchange spring behaviour: A First Order Reversal Curve Analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The magnetization behaviour of the soft Cobalt Ferrite-hard Strontium Ferrite nanocomposite is tuned from the non exchange spring nature to the exchange spring nature, by controlling the particle size of the soft Cobalt Ferrite in the Cobalt Ferrite: Strontium Ferrite (1:8) nanocomposite.

Selective Reduction Laser Sintering: A New Strategy for NO2 Gas Detection Based on In2O3 Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This research utilizes selective reduction laser sintering (SRLS) to engineer In2O3 NPs for flexible NO2 sensors. The introduction of oxygen vacancy defects enhances sensor performance, offering excellent responsiveness, rapid response/recovery, superior selectivity, low detection limit, and long‐term stability.

Print‐and‐Plate Architected Electrodes for Electrochemical Transformations Under Flow

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Typical flow cell electrodes are composed of stochastic porous carbon, limiting understanding of electrode structure‐performance relationships. This work describes an approach, termed “print‐and‐plate,” to prepare porous electrodes by direct ink writing followed by conformal metal coating.

Formic Acid Decomposition Using Synthesized Ag/TiO2 Nanocomposite in Ethanol-Water Media Under Illumination of Near UV Light [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
The effect of ethanol-water media on the synthesis of Ag/TiO2 nanocomposite was investigated with 0.05, 0.1 and 0.5 (wt.%) of Ag content. Ethanol was used as hole-scavenger enhancing the photodecomposition of Ag+ ions under illumination of near-UV light. The nanocomposites were further calcined to 33C and 400C under controlled atmosphere.

Non‐Enzymatic Destruction of the Extracellular Matrix for Activatable Orthotopic Tumor Treatment and Enhanced Drug Penetration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Supramolecular biomimetic nanoaggregates (HFCu NAs), constructed with fluorinated histidine and copper ions via metal coordination and aromatic packing, exhibit enhanced reactive oxygen species (ROS)generation at tumor sites, which results in stepwise collapse of the extracellular matrix (ECM), affording tumor microenvironment responsive “turn‐on” 19F ...

Au/Ag bimetallic nanocomposites as a highly sensitive plasmonic material [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
We report Au/Ag bimetallic nanocomposites as a highly sensitive plasmonic material. A unit approach via a three-dimensional numerical modeling is introduced to observe collective plasmon resonance in Au/Ag bimetallic nanocomposites as well as Au mono-metallic nanoensembles. Au nanoensembles provide consistently identical plasmon wavelength, independent

Shape‐Stabilization of Phase Change Materials with Carbon‐Conscious Poly(hydroxy)Urethane Foams

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Poly(hydroxy)urethane (PHU) foam, derivable from carbon dioxide (CO2) and bio‐based resources, is a promising material platform for shape‐stabilizing phase change materials (PCMs). We demonstrate the encapsulation of both paraffins and calcium chloride hexahydrate in PHU foam, achieving 48 stable thermal cycles by introducing 5 wt.% barium carbonate ...
