Nanocomposite materials with controlled ion mobilityk

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, 1995
The intercalation or entrapment of oxyethylene compounds, crown ethers, and poly(ethylene oxide) into inorganic osts provides the opportnity to design and prepare nanocomposite maerials useful for membrane and solid electrolyte applications. Crown ethers incorporated into the membranes produced by intercalation can act as ion‐selective sensors.
