Sandwich-like layer-by-layer assembly of gold nanoparticles with tunable SERS properties

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Nanotechnology, 2016
Sandwich-like layer-by-layer thin films consisting of polyelectrolytes and gold nanoparticles were utilized to construct surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrates with tunable SERS properties. It is found that both the size of the nanoparticles

High-modulus rotary jet spun co-polyimide nanofibers and their composites

open access: yesNanocomposites, 2020
The production of high-modulus and high-strength polymer nanofibers using centrifugal or rotary jet spinning (RJS) was explored. Co-polyimide nanofibers based on 3,3′,4,4′-biphenyl-tetracarboxylic dianhydride (BPDA)/p-phenylenediamine (PDA)/4,4 ...

COFs on MOFs: Layer‐by‐Layer Synthesis of MOF@COF Nanoparticles with Synergistic Adsorption

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A layer‐by‐layer strategy enables the growth of crystalline covalent organic framework (COF) shells on metal–organic framework nanoparticles, creating core–shell structures with tunable porosity. Ordered interstitial mesopores are formed during shell growth, which are connected with the COF's intrinsic micropores, thereby enhancing water sorption. This

In Situ Amine Formation to Modulate MOF‐Derived PdIn N‐Doped Carbon Catalysts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An amine‐assisted approach converts PdIn‐MOF into PdIn intermetallic nanoparticles embedded in N‐doped carbon. In situ‐generated amines trigger early Pd nucleation, producing smaller PdIn domains than direct pyrolysis. Amine sterics and basicity tune composition and particle size, while solvent and amine co‐determine textural features.

KCC-1/Pr-SO3H: an efficient heterogeneous catalyst for green and one-pot synthesis of 2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-one

open access: yesNanocomposites, 2020
KCC-1/Pr-SO3H is found to be a considerable efficient nanocatalyst for the one-pot three-component condensation coupling of aromatic aldehydes, isatoic anhydride, and primary amines for the synthesis of 2,3-dihydroquinazolin-4(1H)-ones in ethanol as a ...

Localized Temperature Monitoring in Mouse Brain during Light Delivery via a Non‐Planar Tapered Fiber‐Integrated µRTD Sensor

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We report a multifunctional tapered optical fiber integrating a conformal micro‐resistance temperature detector (µRTD) for local, real‐time thermometry during optical stimulation. The platform combines light‐delivery and temperature sensing within a minimally invasive footprint, enabling detection of sub‐degree cortical heating under representative ...

Clustomesogen Showing Sub‐Zero Liquid Crystal Properties: Supramolecular Assembly Between Cs2[Mo6Ii8(OCOC2F5)6] and Hexaethylenoxide Containing Mesogenic Dimers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Associating a red‐NIR phosphorescent octahedral hexanuclear molybdenum cluster compound with hexaethyleneoxide chains bearing mesogenic units on both ends leads to an emissive hybrid liquid crystal showing mesomorphism on a very unusual temperature range down to −25°C.

The influence of blend composition and filler on the microstructure, crystallization, and mechanical behavior of polymer blends with multilayered structures

open access: yesNanocomposites, 2018
The preparation of multilayered structures has been thought as a complicated process until our recent study illustrating an effective method through high speed thin wall injection molding (HSTWIM) of polypropylene (PP) and polyethylene (PE) based blends.
