Nanocontainer-based corrosion sensing coating

Nanotechnology, 2013
The present paper reports on the development of new sensing active coating on the basis of nanocontainers containing pH-indicating agent. The coating is able to detect active corrosion processes on different metallic substrates. The corrosion detection functionality based on the local colour change in active cathodic zones results from the interaction ...

Silica nanocontainers for active corrosion protection

Nanoscale, 2012
Novel self-healing protective coatings with nanocontainers of corrosion inhibitors open new opportunities for long-term anticorrosion protection of different metallic materials. In this paper a new type of functional nanoreservoir based on silica nanocapsules (SiNC) synthesized and loaded with corrosion inhibitor 2-mercaptobenzothiazole (MBT) in a one ...

Halloysite Tubes as Nanocontainers for Anticorrosion Coating with Benzotriazole

ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2009
Halloysite clay nanotubes were investigated as a tubular container for the corrosion inhibitor benzotriazole. Halloysite is a naturally occurring cylindrical clay mineral with an internal diameter in the nanometer range and a length up to several micrometers, yielding a high-aspect-ratio hollow tube structure.

Biocompatible Protein Nanocontainers for Controlled Drugs Release

ACS Nano, 2010
We designed a biocompatible carrier for controlled release of hydrophobic drugs. The designed carrier was prepared by sonicating oil in a protein aqueous solution forming a protein nanocontainer composed of an inner gel core and an outer protein shell.

“Smart” liposomal nanocontainers in biology and medicine

Biochemistry (Moscow), 2010
The perspectives of using liposomes for delivery of drugs to desired parts of the human body have been intensively investigated for more than 30 years. During this time many inventions have been suggested and different kinds of liposomal devices developed, and a number of them have reached the stages of preclinical or clinical trials.

How to make a protein-based nanocontainer

Science, 2017
Microcompartments Bacterial microcompartments are to bacteria what membrane-bound organelles are to eukaryotic cells. They are specialized subcellular compartments for colocalizing enzymes to enhance reaction rates, protect sensitive proteins, and sequester toxic intermediates. Sutter et al.

Polymer Nanocontainers for Drug Delivery

2004
Vesicle-templated nanocontainers prepared from ABA triblock copolymers possess great potential for applications in areas such as drug delivery or pharmacology. For example, PMOXA-PDMS-PMOXA copolymers self-aggregate in water to form vesicles in a size range from 50 nm up to 100 μm. Intravesicular crosslinking of polymerizable end groups transforms the
