Fabrication of Cellulose-Nanocrystal-Based Folate Targeted Nanomedicine via Layer-by-Layer Assembly with Lysosomal pH-Controlled Drug Release into the Nucleus

open access: yes, 2019
To increase the cellular uptake and drug loading of cellulose nanocrystal (CNC)-based nanomedicines, folate/cis-aconityl-doxorubicin@polyethylenimine@CNC (FA/CAD@PEI@CNC) nanomedicines were built up by the building blocks of folate (FA), cis-aconityl ...

Laplace‐Pressure‐Stabilized Rutile Solid‐Solution Catalysts for Acidic Water Oxidation: Enabling DSA‐Inspired Compositions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The miscibility of foreign elements in rutile‐type IrO2 and SnO2 is greatly enhanced under high Laplace pressure, where their crystal size is reduced to the nanoscale. This enhancement leads to the successful synthesis of DSA‐composition solid‐solution nanocatalysts with notable durability during the acidic OER in water electrolysis.

Mono-alkyl Phosphinic Acids as Ligands in Nanocrystal Synthesis

open access: yes, 2021
Surfactants play a crucial role in the synthesis of colloidal nanocrystals. Nevertheless, only a handful molecules are currently used, oleic acid being the most typical example. Here, we show that mono-alkyl phosphinic acids are an interesting surfactant
