Surface nanocrystallization of hydroxyapatite coating

Acta Biomaterialia, 2008
Nanocharactered biomaterials, such as nanopowders, nanocrystalline compacts and nanostructured films, as well as materials with nanoscale roughness, have attracted much attention recently, due to their clear effects on cell response. Surface nanocrystallization of plasma-sprayed hydroxyapatite (HA) coating can be realized by conventional post-heat ...

Surface Nanocrystallization for Bacterial Control

Langmuir, 2010
Stainless steel is commonly used in indwelling medical devices, food preparation, and heavy industry. Bacteria display reduced adherence to nanocrystallized stainless steel. In this article, we present quantitative information on the surface adhesive force, surface electron work function, and bacterial adherence to surfaces of nanocrystallized ...

Nanocrystallization Process of Diarylethene

Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals, 2011
We have clarified nanocrystallization process of diarylethene in the reprecipitation method using a derivative, cis-1,2-cyano-1,2-bis(2,4,5,-trimethyl-3-thienyl)ethene (CMTE) as a typical example of diarylethene. The crystal growth was investigated by the time-dependence measurement of crystal size with dynamic light scattering (DLS ...

Nanocrystallization of Co33Zr67 Glasses

Journal of Materials Science, 1997
Crystallization of Co33Zr67 glasses was studied at temperatures below and above the glass transition temperature, Tg, by means of TEM and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Nanocrystalline cubic structure (“big” cubes; a = 1.22 nm) was revealed at temperatures above Tg as well as at low annealing temperatures in DSC.

Nanocrystallization Process in FeCuNbSiB Based Alloys

Journal of Metastable and Nanocrystalline Materials, 1999
The influence of different heat treatments on the nanocrystallization behaviour of Fe77.7Cu1Nb3Si9.5B9 amorphous alloys was investigated using different techniques. The microstructural studies have been correlated with the results obtained by means of X-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetry analysis under field ...

APFIM studies on nanocrystallization of amorphous alloys

Materials Science and Engineering: A, 1995
AbstractThis paper reports recent atom probe analysis results of Fe-Zr-B(-Cu) and Al-Ni-Ce(-Cu) amorphous alloys, in which nanocrystalline microstructures develop by primary crystallization. In these alloy systems, enrichment of slow diffusing solute was found at the interfaces between primary crystals and amorphous matrix during the nucleation and ...
