Unidirectional Focusing of Light Using Structured Diffractive Surfaces
This study presents a reciprocal diffractive unidirectional focusing design based on linear and isotropic layers. A set of cascaded diffractive layers is designed using deep learning to achieve efficient forward light focusing while suppressing backward propagation across various illumination angles.

Selective Directional Enhancement in Gold/Perovskite Quantum Dot Metasurfaces
A thin gold layer can selectively enhance the directional radiation of a perovskite quantum dot (QD)1D metasurface by incorporating hybrid plasmonic excitation and redistributing diffraction orders from substrate to cover. The use of template‐assisted self‐assembly techniques enables breakthrough tunability in radiative properties over large areas ...

Multiphoton-excited DUV photolithography for 3D nanofabrication [PDF]
Light-matter interactions in the deep ultraviolet (DUV) wavelength region exhibits a variety of optical effects such as luminescence, photoisomerization, and polymerization in many materials. Despite the rich photochemistry and high spatial resolution due to the short wavelength, the notorious lack of DUV-compatible optical components and devices ...

Femtosecond Pulse Shaping with Semiconductor Huygens' Metasurfaces
Spatially variant silicon Huygens' metasurfaces enable femtosecond pulse shaping by tailoring the spectral phase and amplitude of incident pulses. Two key functionalities are demonstrated: temporal stretching and pulse splitting of an input Gaussian pulse.

Hydrogen plasma inhibits ion beam restructuring of materials [PDF]
Focused ion beam (FIB) techniques are employed widely for nanofabrication, and processing of materials and devices. However, ion irradiation often gives rise to severe damage due to atomic displacements that cause defect formation, migration and clustering within the ion-solid interaction volume.
