Bipolar photovoltaic effect in InSe/MoO3 van der Waals heterostructure for spontaneous light polarization detection

open access: yesInfoMat, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2026.
Bidirectional photo response in a two‐dimensional heterojunction photodetector controlled by light wavelength and polarization. Abstract Polarization is one of the most fundamental properties of light. Traditional polarization‐sensitive photodetectors, however, are limited in their ability to fully extract this information, as they translate the two ...

Modular Fabrication of Quantum‐Dot–Plasmonic Metasurfaces for Tailored Optical Modes

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 5, May 2026.
Our modular photonic architecture is illustrated using color‐coded building blocks representing colloidal quantum dots, gold nanoparticles, and thin films. This visual metaphor highlights our bottom‐up and top‐down fabrication approach, enabling the creation of tailored optical modes for optoelectronic applications.

Challenges in Simultaneous Microstructuring and Hyperdoping of Germanium with Ultrafast Laser

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), Volume 223, Issue 8, 22 April 2026.
Femtosecond laser processing is explored as a single‐step route to microstructure and hyperdope germanium for extended infrared absorption. Comparative experiments with and without a Ti precursor reveal that Ge's shallow green light absorption and low thermal conductivity drive intense localized melting, evaporation, and redeposition. Post‐cleaning and

Hydrogen and Oxygen Defect Engineering in Amorphous‐IGZO Thin‐Film Transistors by Rapid Thermal Annealing Ambient

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), Volume 223, Issue 8, 22 April 2026.
This study investigates how rapid thermal annealing atmospheres control defect dynamics in amorphous IGZO thin‐film transistors with HfO2 dielectrics deposited by thermal atomic layer deposition. The interplay among hydrogen interstitials, oxygen interstitials, and oxygen vacancies are shown to govern device stability under positive/negative bias ...

A Distributed Bragg Reflector Interface for Filter‐Free Fluorescence Spectro‐Microscopy With High Spectral Tunability

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), Volume 223, Issue 8, 22 April 2026.
An all‐dielectric TiO2/SiO2 distributed Bragg reflector is engineered as a substrate‐integrated optical filter, enabling filter‐free fluorescence spectro‐microscopy. Nanometer‐scale layer control aligns excitation suppression and emission reflection for specific fluorophores, achieving high‐contrast imaging at sub‐monolayer coverage.
