Nanoflare Theory and Stochastic Reconnection
Research Notes of the AAS, 2020Abstract Local magnetic reversals are an inseparable part of magnetohydrodynamic turbulence whose collective outcome may lead to a global reconnection with a rate independent of the small scale physics—stochastic reconnection. We show that this picture is related to the nanoflare theory, which is one of the most plausible models to solve

Nanoflares and Current Sheet Dissipation
Space Science Reviews, 1994Energy must be continually supplied to the solar corona to maintain both its average temperature and its high energy manifestations. The energy is supplied by photospheric motions and the magnetic field acts both to transmit this energy to the corona and as the furnace in which the energy is stored.

The Au-S bond is the classic way to functionalize gold nanoparticles (AuNPs). However, cleavage of the bond by biothiols and other chemicals is a long-standing problem hindering practical applications, especially in cells.

We successfully constructed a new class of nanoflares based on ultra-thin silica-coated gold nanoparticles (Au@SiO2) with the covalent binding of nucleic acids, which demonstrated more resistance to biothiols than that exhibited in the traditional Au-S ...

The evolution of hydrodynamic shocks generated by nanoflares in coronal loops is investigated in order to suggest requirements for future observations. The shocks produced by nanoflares of 1024 ergs decay within a few seconds, which sets stringent requirements for Doppler or transverse velocity measurements.

Nanoflare mechanisms: Twisting and braiding
Solar Physics, 1993In this paper we will show that the twisting mechanism of Sturrock and Uchida is as viable a heating source for the active corona as Parker's braiding. This conclusion contradicts that of Berger (1990). Moreover, we shall show that if we adopt Berger's criterion for reconnection, braiding produces far more flare energy than is observed.

Self-Assembly of DNA Nanoflares in Mitochondria for Sensitive In Situ Imaging of Cancer Markers.
ACS NanoReal-time monitoring of cancer markers at the organelle level offers an effective approach to understanding the mechanisms of cancer generation. Herein, we have developed a sensitive in situ imaging method for human apurinic/apyrimidinic endonuclease 1 ...
