Nanofluidics at the crossroads
Nanofluidics, the field interested in flows at the smallest scales, has grown at a fast pace, reaching an ever finer control of fluidic and ionic transport at the molecular level. Until now, artificial pores are far from reaching the wealth of functionalities of biological channels that regulate sensory detection, biological transport, and ...

Advanced Loop Thermosiphon With Check Valve (ALT/CV): Thermal Performance and Behavior
Nanofluids (NFs) are an attractive alternative to traditional working fluids for thermosiphons, but the solid nanoparticles (NPs) within the NF can agglomerate and reduce the thermal performance.

This paper introduces the fundamental continuum theory governing momentum transport in isotropic nanofluidic flows. The theory is an extension to the classical Navier-Stokes equation, which includes coupling between translational and rotational degrees of freedom, as well as non-local response functions that incorporates spatial correlations.

Nanofluidization electrostatics [PDF]
Electrostatic charging of powders is a relevant phenomenon for a number of industrial applications. The design of new processes and the use of high resistivity materials and ultrafine powders may lead to higher charging rates and to higher levels of charge accumulation that can become a serious problem.
