Nanofluidics coming of age [PDF]

open access: yesNature Materials, 2020
This is a turning point for nanofluidics. Recent progress allows envisioning both fundamental discoveries for the transport of fluids at the ultimate scales, and disruptive technologies for the water-energy nexus.

Modeling transient absorption and thermal conductivity in a simple nanofluid [PDF]

open access: green, 2006
Molecular dynamics simulations are used to simulate the thermal properties of a model fluid containing nanoparticles (nanofluid). By modelling transient absorption experiments, we show that they provide a reliable determination of interfacial resistance between the particle and the fluid.

Temperature oscillations of magnetization observed in nanofluid ferromagnetic graphite [PDF]

open access: yesJ. Phys.: Condens. Matter 21 (2009) 495303, 2009
We report on unusual magnetic properties observed in the nanofluid room-temperature ferromagnetic graphite (with an average particle size of l=10nm).

Buoyancy-induced convection of water-based nanofluids in differentially-heated horizontal Semi-Annuli [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A two-phase model based on the double-diffusive approach is used to perform a numerical study on natural convection of water-based nanofluids in differentially- heated horizontal semi-annuli, assuming that Brownian diffusion and thermophoresis are the ...

Prediction of Thermo-Physical Properties of TiO2-Al2O3/Water Nanoparticles by Using Artificial Neural Network [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
In this paper, an artificial neural network is implemented for the sake of predicting the thermal conductivity ratio of TiO2-Al2O3/water nanofluid. TiO2-Al2O3/water in the role of an innovative type of nanofluid was synthesized by the sol–gel method. The

Spreading-splashing transition of nanofluid droplets on a smooth flat surface [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Colloid And Interface Science 606P1 (2022) pp. 434-443, 2021
Even a small fraction of nanoparticles in fluids affects the splashing behavior of a droplet upon impact on a smooth surface. Nanofluid drop impact onto a smooth sapphire substrate is experimentally investigated over wide ranges of Reynolds ($10^2<\mathrm{Re}<10^4$) and Weber ($50<\mathrm{We}<500$) numbers for three nanofluid mass concentrations (0.01%,

Natural convection in square enclosures differentially heated at sides using alumina-water nanofluids with temperature-dependent physical properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Laminar natural convection of Al2O3 + H2O nanofluids inside square cavities differentially heated at sides is studied numerically. A computational code based on the SIMPLE-C algorithm is used for the solution of the system of the mass, momentum and ...

Numerical simulation for impact of implement of reflector and turbulator within the solar system in existence of nanomaterial

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Turbulent flow of oil based hybrid nanofluid within an absorber tube of concentrated solar system has been evaluated in this article. To concentrate the solar irradiation, the parabolic plate has been located below the tube and variable heat flux was ...

Preparing Nanofluids (Al2O3) for Enhancement Performance of Photovoltaic [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2021
Photovoltaic (PV) panels produce electrical energy comparable to the cumulative amount of PV radiation generated on surface of sun. The solar modules influence on temperature of PV panel and for work with its standard specifications in Iraqi environment ...

Stability and Thermal Properties Study of Metal Chalcogenide-Based Nanofluids for Concentrating Solar Power [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Nanofluids are colloidal suspensions of nanomaterials in a fluid which exhibit enhanced thermophysical properties compared to conventional fluids. The addition of nanomaterials to a fluid can increase the thermal conductivity, isobaric-specific heat ...
