Assembly of metallic nanoparticle arrays on glass via nanoimprinting and thin-film dewetting

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Nanotechnology, 2017
We propose a nanofabrication process to generate large-area arrays of noble metal nanoparticles on glass substrates via nanoimprinting and dewetting of metallic thin films.

Nanoimprinted Hierarchical Micro-/Nanostructured Substrates for the Growth of Cardiomyocyte Fibers

open access: yesNanomanufacturing, 2023
Investigating the behavior of cardiomyocytes is an important part of drug development. We present a structure and a related nanoimprint-based fabrication method, where the cardiomyocytes form isolated fibers, which is beneficial for drug testing, more ...

Electrochemical nanoimprinting of silicon [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2019
Significance The indirect nature of existing parallel micromachining strategies that combine sacrificial templates with top-down processes to etch 3D micro- and nanostructures inherently produces poor out-of-plane patterning fidelity. Here, the patterning fidelity of our process is measured for microscale curvilinear 3D objects to be less ...

Cascaded-Microrings Biosensors Fabricated on a Polymer Platform

open access: yesSensors, 2019
Polymer-based single-microring biosensors usually have a small free spectral range (FSR) that hampers the tracing of the spectrum shifting in the measurement.

Scalable Thermal Engineering via Femtosecond Laser‐Direct‐Written Phononic Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates that femtosecond laser‐induced periodic surface structures (fs‐LIPSS) can function as phononic metasurfaces, reducing thermal conductivity below the plain thin‐film limit. Phonon Monte Carlo analysis reveals that the periodic structures restrict phonon mean free paths.
