A Lightweight Procedural Layer for Hybrid Experimental–Computational Workflows in Materials Science

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We unveil a prototype hybrid‐workflow framework that fuses automatedcomputation with hands‐on experiments. Built atop pyiron, a lightweight, parameterized layer translates procedure descriptions into executable manual steps, syncing instrument settings, human interventions, and data capture in real‐time today.

The origins of electromechanical indentation size effect in ferroelectrics

open access: yes, 2009
Metals exhibit a size-dependent hardening when subject to indentation. Mechanisms for this phenomenon have been intensely researched in recent times. Does such a size-effect also exist in the electromechanical behavior of ferroelectrics?--if yes, what ...

Nanomechanical characterization of cavity growth and rupture in hydrogen-implanted single-crystal BaTiO3 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A thermodynamic model of cavity nucleation and growth in ion-implanted single-crystal BaTiO3 layer is proposed, and cavity formation is related to the measured mechanical properties to better understand hydrogen implantation-induced layer transfer ...
