Metallic and Plasmonic Nanolasers
2012There has been recent rapid progress in the miniaturization of the laser via the use of metallic structures to form the resonant cavity of the laser. It is likely that the unique characteristics of small metallic lasers will lead to their near term use in applications.

Electrical Injection Schemes for Nanolasers
IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, 2013Three electrical injection schemes based on recently demonstrated electrically pumped photonic crystal nanolasers have been numerically investigated: 1) a vertical p-i-n junction through a post structure; 2) a lateral p-i-n junction with a homostructure; and 3) a lateral p-i-n junction with a buried heterostructure.

Demonstration of a spaser-based nanolaser
Nature, 2009One of the most rapidly growing areas of physics and nanotechnology focuses on plasmonic effects on the nanometre scale, with possible applications ranging from sensing and biomedicine to imaging and information technology. However, the full development of nanoplasmonics is hindered by the lack of devices that can generate coherent plasmonic fields. It
