ALD Derived Li2O Layer Stabilizing Solid Electrolyte Interphase of Silicon/Carbon Anodes for Lithium Storage

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
A durable solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) is essential for mitigating the mechanical fracture and interfacial instability of silicon anodes under strong electrochemical‐mechanical coupling. Herein, a uniform Li2O layer was accurately deposited on the Si/C composites to regulate the growth characteristics of SEI.

Nano-mechanical properties of diabetic glycogen

open access: yesCarbohydrate Polymer Technologies and Applications
Glycogen, a highly branched glucose polymer, plays a vital role in maintaining blood sugar homeostasis in vivo. Liver glycogen molecules contain small “β particles” bound together into larger composite “α particles”.

Thermodynamic, Structural, and Nanomechanical Properties of a Fluorous Biphasic Material

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2008
The dynamics of the amphiphilic semifluorinated F(CF2)12(CH2)12H (F12H12) alkane that undergoes two condensed phase transitions have been investigated by Brillouin light spectroscopy, shear rheometry, small- (SAXS) and wide-angle (WAXS) X-ray scattering, and thermodynamic PVT measurements.

Correlative Electron Paramagnetic Resonance Imaging and Atomic Force Microscopy of Lithium Deposited on Copper

open access: yesChemPhysChem, Volume 26, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.
The correlation of a spectroscopic (EPRI) and microscopic (AFM) technique is demonstrated for a sample of Li deposited on Cu. Areas of different morphology were analysed. The techniques complement each other's length scales as well as the information obtained from the sample.

Nanomechanical properties of neutron-irradiated concrete

open access: yesActa Polytechnica CTU Proceedings
Concrete exposed to irradiation from nuclear reactor undergoes atomic-level degradation due to the influence of neutrons, secondary gamma rays, and associated gamma heating. The radiationinduced damage decreases the mechanical properties of the concrete

Generalized Hertz model for bimodal nanomechanical mapping

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Nanotechnology, 2016
Bimodal atomic force microscopy uses a cantilever that is simultaneously driven at two of its eigenmodes (resonant modes). Parameters associated with both resonances can be measured and used to extract quantitative nanomechanical information about the ...

Visualizing CO2 Electroreduction Dynamics: Advances in Electrochemical AFM for Catalyst Interfacial Analysis

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights how in situ electrochemical atomic force microscopy (EC‐AFM) bridges materials science and electrochemistry by providing real‐time, nanoscale visualization of catalyst dynamics during CO2 reduction. By uncovering interfacial reconstruction, active‐site evolution, and structure–activity relationships across diverse catalysts, EC ...
