Photocontrolled Growth of Cross-Linked Nanonetworks
ACS Macro Letters, 2018We report the preparation of photoresponsive nanomaterials and the increase of their nanoscopic size through a "photogrowth" mechanism. The photogrowable nanonetworks (PGNNs) were synthesized by cross-linking two components, a thiolated acrylate copolymer and a symmetrical bismaleimide trithiocarbonate (TTC), utilizing thiol-maleimide click chemistry ...

Neuronal signaling optimization for intrabody nanonetworks
2014 Fourth International Conference on Digital Information and Communication Technology and its Applications (DICTAP), 2014This paper considers natural neurons as a physical communication medium and defines a Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) communication protocol on top of the physical layer to construct intrabody nanonetworks, each of which networks nanoscale nodes to perform sensing and actuation tasks in the body for biomedical and prosthetic purposes. The proposed

Reliability of multi-path virus nanonetworks
2013 IEEE International Conference on Communications Workshops (ICC), 2013Molecular Communication is an emerging communication paradigm which uses biological particles to encode and transport information. In this paper we present a mathematical analysis of a molecular communication based nanonetwork which uses virus particles as information carriers.

Multi-Hop Conjugation Based Bacteria Nanonetworks
IEEE Transactions on NanoBioscience, 2013Molecular communication is a new paradigm for nanomachines to exchange information, by utilizing biological mechanism and/or components to transfer information (e.g., molecular diffusion, neuronal networks, molecular motors). One possible approach for molecular communication is through the use of bacteria, which can act as carriers for DNA-based ...

Bit simulator, an electromagnetic nanonetworks simulator
Proceedings of the 5th ACM International Conference on Nanoscale Computing and Communication, 2018Electromagnetic nanonetworks form an exciting new field of investigation. The frequency band and the channel access methods impose peculiar constraints on upper layer protocols. Given that research is impaired by the unavailability of ready to use hardware, simulation tools are needed to evaluate protocols and applications.

Proceedings of the Second Annual International Conference on Nanoscale Computing and Communication, 2015
The present paper introduces a joint coordinate and routing system (CORONA) which can be deployed dynamically on a 2D ad-hoc nanonetwork. User-selected nodes are used as anchor-points at the setup phase. All nodes then measure their distances, in number of hops, from these anchors, obtaining a sense of geolocation.

Image and Video Transmission in Nanonetworks
2019 International Electronics Symposium (IES), 2019Nanonetworks consist of nano-machine with nano-camera which can be used to sense or capture the image of small object in human body, such as virus, bacteria and cancer cell. A nano-machine has limitation on battery capacity, therefore to transmit image or even video the machine should use data compression technique to reduce the energy consumption ...
