Synergistic Solar Interfacial Evaporation and Photocatalysis Enabled by a Hierarchical Porous Hydrogel Reactor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A tree‐inspired hydrogel interfacial reactor couples solar evaporation with photocatalysis for simultaneous desalination and waste water treatment. The bilayer design achieves 2.14 kg·m−2·h−1 evaporation rate with 79% dye degradation under one sun, demonstrating that photothermal heating and evaporation induced pollutant enrichment create a self ...

Ionic Precursors Transformed Into Vinyl Acetate Synthesis Catalyst via Reaction‐Driven Restructuring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that a simple physical mixture of Pd and Au ionic precursors, KOAc promoter, and SiO2 support can transform into a highly active vinyl acetate synthesis catalyst through reaction‐driven restructuring. The results highlight reaction‐induced restructuring as an innovative and sustainable catalyst design strategy.

Tuning Redox Dynamics in Cu‐Based Electrocatalysts: Effect of Secondary Metals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Advanced analysis of operando X‐ray absorption spectroscopy data reveals that secondary metals affect the redox processes in Cu‐based catalysts for electrocatalytic CO2 reduction. This influences the amount of oxides formed under pulsed reaction conditions and the distribution of reaction products.

Immunotoxicity of nanoparticles.

open access: yesInternational journal of immunopathology and pharmacology, 2011
The interaction between NPs and immune system has been demonstrated, however, the data available are limited. Among all traits, i.s. hydrophilicity, lipophilicity, catalytic activity, composition, electronic structure, capacity to bind or coat surface species and solubility, the dimension, and consequently the surface area, seems to be the main factor ...
