Nanoporous Anodic Alumina for Optofluidic Applications

2015
The dynamics of liquid imbibition in nanoporous anodic alumina (NAA) has been recently studied by using the integration of optics and microfluidics. Here the latest results on the subject are revised, and some perspectives for using NAA in optofluidics applications are considered, notably the characterization of the membranes itself.

Effect of Etching on Nanoporous Anodic Alumina

Iranian Journal of Science and Technology, Transactions A: Science, 2019
Nanoporous anodic alumina were fabricated by using aqueous oxalic acid electrolyte via the simple and convenient electrochemical anodization method. The pore formation resulted from the interaction of surface aluminum with the prepared electrolyte of 0.3M oxalic acid having pH value less than 5.

Interferometric nanoporous anodic alumina photonic coatings for optical sensing

Nanoscale, 2015
Herein, we present a systematic study on the development, optical optimization and sensing applicability of colored photonic coatings based on nanoporous anodic alumina films grown on aluminum substrates. These optical nanostructures, so-called distributed Bragg reflectors (NAA-DBRs), are fabricated by galvanostatic pulse anodization process, in which ...

Hierarchical nanoporous anodic alumina templates by asymmetric two‐step anodization

physica status solidi (a), 2010
AbstractAn asymmetric two‐step anodization process is used to fabricate hierarchical nanoporous anodic alumina templates (HNAATs) with different geometric characteristics. This nanostructure consists of an outer hexagonal lattice of concavities in the interior of which pores grow.

The Incorporation of Carbon Element into Nanoporous Anodic Alumina by Pulse Anodization

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2019
The incorporation of carbon element into nanoporous anodic aluminum oxides from oxalic acid electrolyte was studied. The carbon element content in nanoporous anodic alumina by pulse anodization reaches up to ∼20 at.%, while it remains ∼7 at.% under constant anodization. It was proposed that the ionic dynamics in nanopores governs the carbon-containing

Lasing in dye-infiltrated nanoporous anodic alumina membranes

Applied Physics B, 2018
Laser emission is obtained from a slab of nanoporous anodic alumina on an aluminum sheet, infiltrated by rhodamine 6G dye in methanol and pumped by 532 nm, 700 ps laser pulses. The nanostructured surface maintains a continuous flow of the dye solution by wetting and evaporation of methanol.

Nanoporous hard data: optical encoding of information within nanoporous anodic alumina photonic crystals

Nanoscale, 2016
Herein, we present a method for storing binary data within the spectral signature of nanoporous anodic alumina photonic crystals. A rationally designed multi-sinusoidal anodisation approach makes it possible to engineer the photonic stop band of nanoporous anodic alumina with precision.

Titanium dioxide-coated nanoporous anodic alumina optical properties

Applied Surface Science, 2019
Abstract Ordered nanoporous anodic alumina (NAA) samples are fabricated by the two-step anodization process. The surface of NAA is modified by means of the spray pyrolysis of titanium dioxide (TiO2). The morphology and optical properties of the samples are investigated. UV–Vis-NIR reflectance of NAA and NAA coated with TiO2 has been both measured and
