Quantum Reflection of Antihydrogen in the GBAR Experiment

open access: yes, 2013
In the GBAR experiment, cold antihydrogen atoms will be left to fall on an annihilation plate with the aim of measuring the gravitational acceleration of antimatter.

Thermoelectric properties of nanoporous three-dimensional graphene networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We propose three dimensional-graphene nanonetworks (3D-GN) with pores in the range of 10 similar to 20 nm as a potential candidate for thermoelectric materials.

Smart Face Masks as Wearable Respiratory Sensors: A Review of Sensor Technologies, Materials, and Future Directions

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in smart face masks that actively monitor breathing. By integrating humidity, gas, temperature, pressure, strain, and triboelectric sensors, these masks track key respiratory parameters in real time. The article summarizes sensor mechanisms, compares performance across studies, and discusses challenges and future ...

Biomass‐Derived Nanoporous Graphene Memory Cell

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, 2022
Nanoporous graphene (NPG) exhibits an apparent semiconductivity to solve the zero‐gap problem of graphene and also offers multifunctionalities that are directly associated with its structural and chemical nature.

On the Choice of Different Water Model in Molecular Dynamics Simulations of Nanopore Transport Phenomena

open access: yesMembranes, 2022
The water transport through nanoporous multilayered graphene at 300k is investigated using molecular dynamics (MD) simulation with different water models in this study.

Fabrication of Atomically Precise Nanopores in Hexagonal Boron Nitride [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We demonstrate the fabrication of individual nanopores in hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) with atomically precise control of the pore size. Previous methods of pore production in other 2D materials create pores of irregular geometry with imprecise ...

Electron Monte Carlo Simulations of Nanoporous Si Thin Films -- The Influence of Pore-Edge Charges

open access: yes, 2018
Electron transport within nanostructures can be important to varied engineering applications, such as thermoelectrics and nanoelectronics. In theoretical studies, electron Monte Carlo simulations are widely used as an alternative approach to solving the ...

Charging Ultra-nanoporous Electrodes with Size-asymmetric Ions Assisted by Apolar Solvent [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We develop a statistical theory of charging quasi single-file pores with cations and anions of different sizes as well as solvent molecules or voids. This is done by mapping the charging onto a one-dimensional Blume–Emery–Griffith model with variable ...

A Functional 2D Carbon Allotrope Combining Nanoporous Graphene and Biphenylene Segments

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis of a novel nanoporous graphene (NPG) is reported with biphenylene segments via thermal fusion of 12‐armchair porous graphene nanoribbons grown on gold surfaces. Characterization using STM, AFM, and DFT reveals low‐defect semiconducting behaviour and tunable band gaps.

Engineering 3D Graphene-Based Materials: State of the Art and Perspectives

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
Graphene is the prototype of two-dimensional (2D) materials, whose main feature is the extremely large surface-to-mass ratio. This property is interesting for a series of applications that involve interactions between particles and surfaces, such as, for
