Electromagnon in ferrimagnetic eps-Fe2O3 nanograin ceramics

open access: yes, 2013
Electromagnons are known from multiferroics as spin waves excited by the electric component of electromagnetic radiation. We report the discovery of an excitation in the far-infrared spectra of eps-Fe2O3 which we attribute to an electromagnon appearing ...

Occupational Exposure to UPVC Powder Containing Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) Nanoparticles: A Cross‐Sectional Biological Monitoring and Qualitative Risk Assessment

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Nanomaterials are widely produced and used due to their unique physicochemical properties. Adding nano calcium carbonate to Unplasticized PolyVinyl Chloride (UPVC) improves durability and sustainability. Studies have shown that occupational exposure to UPVC powder can affect the health of employees.

Sintering of Negative and Zero Thermal Expansion Phases in A2M3O12 Family: A Review

open access: yesphysica status solidi (b), Volume 263, Issue 5, May 2026.
This study assesses multiple synthesis methods for A2M3O12 powders, as well as consolidation and sintering routes for preparation of monolithic A2M3O12 ceramics. Correlations between powder features, consolidation, and sintering have been discussed to enable the fabrication of high‐density A2M3O12 monoliths with fine microstructure and improved ...

Regulating Mechanical Fractures and Surface Reactivities to Achieve High Electrochemical Stability in Ni‐Rich Cathodes With Boron and Tin

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 5, May 2026.
A Ni‐rich NCM cathode with exceptional mechanochemical stability was synthesized via a coprecipitation method incorporating boron and tin additives. The enhanced structural stability effectively suppresses the detrimental H2–H3 phase transition, resulting in superior electrochemical performance characterized by high capacity retention and preserved ...

In situ single‐spot Rb/Sr cosmochronology of roedderite in the Ribbeck aubrite (asteroid 2024 BX1)

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, Volume 61, Issue 5, Page 768-781, May 2026.
Abstract The mineralogy and textures of several fragments from the Ribbeck aubrite were analyzed using a combination of scanning electron microscopy, electron microprobe analysis, μRaman spectroscopy, and laser ablation inductively coupled reaction cell mass spectrometry (LA‐ICP‐MS/MS).

Prospects of using w nanopowders for improving of mechanical properties of Al-Si alloys [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The studies of the mechanical properties of Al-Si alloys subjected to modification by wolfram nanopowder during casting have been undertaken. It has been established that the content of the wolfram nanopowder in the amount of 0.1 mass.% in the melt leads

Electrical Conductivities of Conductors, Semiconductors, and Their Mixtures at Elevated Temperatures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 8, 22 April 2026.
This article presents a comprehensive review of temperature‐dependent electrical conductivity data for multiple material classes at elevated temperatures, highlighting a persistent conductivity gap between metals and semiconductors in the range of 102$\left(10\right)^{2}$– 107$\left(10\right)^{7}$ S/m. Metal–ceramic irregular metamaterials are proposed

Nickel Nanoparticles Prepared via Colloidal Synthesis as CO2 Hydrogenation Catalysts on Various Support Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 8, 15 April 2026.
Small aromatic ligands are used to synthesize Ni particles between 1 and 4.4 nm. After deposition on various supports, an alkylating agent and subsequent reduction procedure are used to remove the ligands. On SiO2, the Ni particles remained small, but on Al2O3 they sintered severely.
