Dynamical Properties of Plasmon Polaritons in Nanorings Driven by Cassini-Ordered Emitters. [PDF]

open access: yesNanomaterials (Basel)
The dynamics of plasmon polaritons (PPs) in a periodic lattice of dispersed nanorings (NRs) with embedded quantum nanoemitters (NEs) arranged according to the Cassini–Bernoulli lemniscate (LB) is studied.

Ferromagnetic nanorings [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Condensed Matter, 2007
Ferromagnetic metal rings of nanometre range widths and thicknesses exhibit fundamentally new spin states, switching behaviour and spin dynamics, which can be precisely controlled via geometry, material composition and applied field. Following the discovery of the 'onion state', which mediates the switching to and between vortex states, a range of ...

How Aromatic Are Molecular Nanorings? The Case of a Six‐Porphyrin Nanoring** [PDF]

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, 2021
Abstract Large conjugated rings with persistent currents are novel promising structures in molecular‐scale electronics. A six‐porphyrin nanoring structure that allegedly sustained an aromatic ring current involving 78π electrons was recently synthesized.

Enzyme Nanorings [PDF]

open access: yesACS Nano, 2008
We have demonstrated that nanostructures, and in particular nanorings incorporating a homodimeric enzyme, can be prepared by chemically induced self-assembly of dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR)-histidine triad nucleotide binding 1 (Hint1) fusion proteins.

Magnetic Aromaticity of Cycloporphyrin Nanorings

open access: yesChemistry, 2021
The ascertainment of magnetic aromaticity is not necessarily straightforward, especially for large and bent systems, such as the cycloporphyrin nanorings recently synthesized by the group of Anderson.

Cyclodextrin‐Templated Porphyrin Nanorings [PDF]

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, 2014
Abstractα‐ and β‐Cyclodextrins have been used as scaffolds for the synthesis of six‐ and seven‐legged templates by functionalizing every primary CH2OH with a 4‐pyridyl moiety. Although these templates are flexible, they are very effective for directing the synthesis of macrocyclic porphyrin oligomers consisting of six or seven porphyrin units.

The exciton spectrum of the cylindrical quantum dot - quantum ring semiconductor nanostructure in an electric field

open access: yesФізика і хімія твердого тіла, 2022
In the model of effective masses and rectangular potentials for an electron and a hole, the influence of a uniform electric field on the energy spectrum and wave functions of the exciton and the oscillator strengths of interband quantum transitions in ...

Colloidal lead iodide nanorings [PDF]

open access: yesNanoscale, 2018
We present the synthesis and characterization of PbI2 nanorings prepared via a direct colloidal route. The ring structures are obtained by etching as prepared PbI2 nanosheets with trioctylphosphine and possess thicknesses between 20 nm and 85 nm and lateral dimensions of up to 10 μm.

Highly Sensitive and Tunable Plasmonic Sensor Based on a Nanoring Resonator with Silver Nanorods

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2020
We numerically and theoretically investigate a highly sensitive and tunable plasmonic refractive index sensor that is composed of a metal-insulator-metal waveguide with a side-coupled nanoring, containing silver nanorods using the finite element method ...
