Magneto-optical response of layers of semiconductor quantum dots and nanorings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
In this paper a comparative theoretical study was made of the magneto-optical response of square lattices of nanoobjects (dots and rings). Expressions for both the polarizability of the individual objects as their mutual electromagnetic interactions (for

New Directions in Focused Ion Beam Induced Deposition for the Nanoprinting of Functional 3D Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Here, it is shown that focused ion beam induced deposition (FIBID) using helium and neon ions enables advanced high‐resolution 3D nanoprinting achieving precise multimaterial architectures and engineered internal voids. Thus, FIBID with finely focused noble gas ion species is presented as a unique platform for designing functional nanomaterials for ...

Optical exciton Aharonov-Bohm effect, persistent current, and magnetization in semiconductor nanorings of type I and II

open access: yes, 2006
The optical exciton Aharonov-Bohm effect, i. e. an oscillatory component in the energy of optically active (bright) states, is investigated in nanorings.

Nanomedicine Meets Immunotherapy: Advancing Adoptive Cell Therapy with Nanoparticles in the Treatment of Cancer with Sustainability Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review surveys nanoparticle‐based strategies to enhance adoptive cell therapy, particularly CAR‐T cell approaches, in solid tumor treatment. It describes how nanoparticles can improve tumor immunogenicity and T‐cell infiltration while reducing toxicity, and how they enable in vivo CAR‐T cell generation.

Recent Strategies Toward Durable and Ion‐Tolerant Transition Metal‐Based Electrocatalysts in Seawater Electrolysis

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Recent strategies address these challenges through ion‐specific regulation, encompassing chloride‐tolerant and chloride‐regulating anodes together with cathode designs that suppress OH− accumulation and Mg2+/Ca2+ coupling. This ion‐management‐oriented framework provides general guidelines for achieving stable, selective, and scalable seawater ...

Aharonov-Bohm effect in monolayer black phosphorus (phosphorene) nanorings

open access: yes, 2017
This work presents theoretical demonstration of Aharonov-Bohm (AB) effect in monolayer phosphorene nanorings (PNR). Atomistic quantum transport simulations of PNR are employed to investigate the impact of multiple modulation sources on the sample ...

Enhancing thermoelectric properties of graphene quantum rings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We study the thermoelectric properties of rectangular graphene rings connected symmetrically or asymmetrically to the leads. A side-gate voltage applied across the ring allows for the precise control of the electric current flowing through the system ...

Free-Standing Bimetallic Nanorings and Nanoring Arrays Made by On-Wire Lithography

open access: yesACS Nano, 2010
This paper describes a new strategy for synthesizing free-standing bimetallic nanorings and nanoring arrays based upon on-wire lithography and a galvanic replacement reaction. The strategy allows one to tune the diameter, length, and therefore aspect ratio of the nanorings.

High‐Efficiency Phosphor Thin Films With Controlled Lateral Displacement for Low Color Crosstalk in Micro‐LED Displays

open access: yesJournal of the Society for Information Display, EarlyView.
High‐efficiency nano‐phosphor thin films were developed for micro‐LED color conversion, achieving high quantum efficiency and reduced lateral photon displacement. The optimized film structure effectively suppresses color crosstalk and enables high‐performance, full‐color micro‐LED displays.

Energy levels and far-infrared spectroscopy for two electrons in a semiconductor nanoring

open access: yes, 2000
The effects of electron-electron interaction of a two-electron nanoring on the energy levels and far-infrared (FIR) spectroscopy have been investigated based on a model calculation which is performed within the exactly numerical diagonalization.
