Cloaking and Antennas: From Theoretical Paradigms to Next‐Generation Intelligent Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 13, Issue 33, November 25, 2025.
The inception of electromagnetic cloaking sparked an immediate question: Can antennas be made invisible? Two decades later, this review charts the intertwined progress of major cloaking strategies (from transformation optics to scattering cancellation), metasurface technology, and their application to antennas, revealing how AI‐enabled devices are ...

Attitude stability and altitude control of a variable-geometry Earth-orbiting solar sail [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A variable-geometry solar sail for on-orbit altitude control is investigated. It is shown that, by adjusting the effective area of the sail at favorable times, it is possible to influence the length of the semi-major axis over an extended period of time.

Compact Spectral Imaging: A Review of Miniaturized and Integrated Systems

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, Volume 19, Issue 21, November 6, 2025.
This review explores the rapid shift toward compact spectral imaging systems by examining four key design paradigms: Do‐It‐Yourself (DIY) platforms, freeform optics, filter‐on‐chip integration, and multifunctional metasurfaces. The discussion highlights critical applications in medicine, agriculture, and environmental monitoring, providing comparative ...

Analyzing SEU Rate in LEO Satellites During the Space Weather Event of May 2024

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 23, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract From 10 to 12 May 2024, Earth experienced the most intense geomagnetic storm in two decades. Using observational data from the Fengyun‐3E satellite (FY‐3E) and the empirical formula for single event upset (SEU), we investigate the proton flux distribution in both the South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA) and high‐latitude regions, as well as the ...
