Compression‐Expansion: Miniaturization, Modularity, and Logistics Beyond Earth

open access: yesAmerican Anthropologist, Volume 127, Issue 3, Page 424-434, September 2025.
ABSTRACT If the Cold War space race culminated in a return to Earth, at present we are experiencing a renewed interest in space. Drawing on fieldwork among people working in the space sector in Sweden, this article focuses on some of the imaginaries underpinning this resurgence and the contemporary commercialization of space. Specifically, I hone in on

High‐fundamental‐mode output of 1064 nm vertical‐cavity surface‐emitting laser using double embedded antiresonant oxide islands

open access: yesInformation &Functional Materials, Volume 2, Issue 2, Page 118-129, June 2025.
A two‐junction 1064 nm VCSEL with double antiresonant oxide islands in the top DBR is designed to enhance fundamental transverse mode operation. By optimizing island count, aperture size, thickness, and position, it achieves 36.2 mW output power, 54.8% PCE, and a 33.06 GHz 3 dB bandwidth.

Thermal modelling of the PICSAT nanosatellite platform and synergetic prestudies of the CIRCUS nanosatellite

open access: yes, 2016
In the present paper, which was written in collaboration with the Observatory of Paris, thermal models of two CubeSat missions were created. The first goal of this work was to create a nodal simulation of the PicSat satellite to verify the survivability of the system within the extreme space environment.
