Direct electronic measurement of Peltier cooling and heating in graphene [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Thermoelectric effects allow the generation of electrical power from waste heat and the electrical control of cooling and heating. Remarkably, these effects are also highly sensitive to the asymmetry in the density of states around the Fermi energy and ...

Calculation of heat transfer in nanoscale heterostructures

open access: yesIzvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii. Materialy Elektronnoi Tekhniki = Materials of Electronics Engineering, 2019
Abstract. The article discusses the calculation of the temperature regime in nanoscale AlAs/GaAs binary heterostructures. When modeling heat transfer in nanocomposites, it is important to take into account that heat dissipation in multilayer structures with layer sizes of the order of the mean free path of energy carriers (phonons and electrons) occurs

Tailored Hierarchical Porous Copper Architectures via Three Dimensional Printing and Pressure‐less Sintering for Next‐Generation Lithium‐Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical porous copper current collector is fabricated via three‐dimensional printing combined with pressureless sintering to stabilize lithium metal anodes. The interconnected architecture lowers local current density, guides uniform Li deposition within pores, and suppresses dendrite growth.

Nanoscale Heat Transfer Course for Undergraduates

open access: yesVolume 9: Engineering Education and Professional Development, 2008
The growing interest in nanoscale energy transfer research and funding in mechanical engineering departments far out weighs the availability for formal training of fundamental ideas and concepts in this area. Although several universities offer formal graduate courses in nanoscale energy transfer, these courses are often a survey of current research ...

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

A Review on Flow Boiling Enhancement on Textured Surfaces

open access: yesEnergies
It is widely established that flow boiling, being a direct cooling technique also employing the latent heat of the fluid, has the potential to be more efficient than being useful in single-phase conventional cooling methods.

Entropic analysis of cilia-modulated slip flow of trimetallic nanofluid through electroosmotic corrugated pump in the presence of inclined magnetic field

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
An incredible eradication of thermal indulgence is required to enhance the flow and heat transfer enhancement in micro/nanofluidic devices. In addition, the rapid transport and instantaneous mixing of colloidal suspensions of metallic particles at ...

Thermal Characterization of Microscale Heat Convection under Rare Gas Condition by a Modified Hot Wire Method

open access: yes, 2017
As power electronics shrinks down to sub-micron scale, the thermal transport from a solid surface to environment becomes significant. Under circumstances when the device works in rare gas environment, the scale for thermal transport is comparable to the ...
