Antibacterial activity by nanosilver particles

MRS Proceedings, 2012
ABSTRACTThe antibacterial activity of nanosilver against Gram negative Escherichia coli bacteria is investigated by immobilizing nanosilver on nanostructured silica particles and closely controlling Ag content and size. These Ag/SiO2 nanoparticles were characterized by S/TEM, EDX spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction.

How Nanosilver Zaps Germs

Chemical & Engineering News Archive, 2012
Curious germophobes can rejoice: Researchers have figured out how silver nanoparticles, found in many consumer products, kill bacteria. The culprits are the silver ions the nanoparticles emit, not nanoparticle-specific biological effects (Nano Lett., DOI: 10.1021/nl301934w). Manufacturers add silver nanoparticles to cosmetics and clothing to kill germs.

Paper-based nanosilver conductive ink

Journal of Materials Science: Materials in Electronics, 2012
Monolayer-protected silver nanoparticles sized 5 nm were directly synthesized in relatively high concentration (0.093 M) in water phase using cheap chemicals. The ink (20 % silver) prepared with the silver nanoparticles was written on sulfuric paper by a facile pen-on-paper paradigm.

Spray coated nanosilver functional layers

SPIE Proceedings, 2016
Silver coatings are highly conductive functional layers. There are many different ways to product the silver coating but most of them need vacuum or high temperature. Spray coating is a technique that is free of this disadvantages – it doesn't need a cleanroom or high temperature. What's more the layer thickness is about 10 μm.

Nanosilver and its Toxicity

2016
