Ti/CuO and Ti/CuO/Cellulose Nitrate Nanothermites: An Early Insight into Their Combustion Mechanism

open access: yesEnergies
Most nanothermite compositions utilise Al as a fuel, due to its low cost, high reactivity and availability. Nevertheless, aluminothermites exhibit high ignition temperature and low active metal content.

Flame propagation of Al/PTFE mechanically activated composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The structure of mechanically activated (MA) energetic composites are complex, having at the same time intra-particle reactive length scales as small as sub-micrometer and inter-particle length scales as large as 1 mm.

Effect of additives on CuO/Al nanothermite properties

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2017
The effect of additives on CuO/Al nanothermite properties is reported. The incorporation of additives resulted in the decreased sensitivity. It had an adverse impact on gas dynamic characteristics of CuO/Al nanothermite, up to the loss of the unique capability of burning in narrow channels.
