Hydrogel‐Based Capacitive Sensor Model for Ammonium Monitoring in Aquaculture
Traditional techniques for monitoring aquaculture water quality, particularly ammonium levels, harm fish. This work presents a novel capacitive sensor with an ionic hydrogel transducer to monitor ammonium concentration in real time based on the ammonium‐induced hydrogel dissociation and osmotic pressure. Monitoring aquaculture water quality, especially

Field-effect transistors assembled from functionalized carbon nanotubes
We have fabricated field effect transistors from carbon nanotubes using a novel selective placement scheme. We use carbon nanotubes that are covalently bound to molecules containing hydroxamic acid functionality.

Unifying the low-temperature photoluminescence spectra of carbon nanotubes: the role of acoustic phonon confinement [PDF]
At low temperature the photoluminescence of single-wall carbon nanotubes show a large variety of spectral profiles ranging from ultra narrow lines in suspended nanotubes to broad and asymmetrical line-shapes that puzzle the current interpretation in ...

Low-temperature solution growth of ZnO nanotube arrays
Single crystal ZnO nanotube arrays were synthesized at low temperature in an aqueous solution containing zinc nitrate and hexamethylenetetramine. It was found that the pH value of the reaction solution played an important role in mediating the growth of ...

Fluid mixtures in nanotubes [PDF]
The aim of the paper is the study of fluid mixtures in nanotubes by the methods of continuum mechanics. The model starts from a statistical distribution in mean-field molecular theory and uses a density expansion of Taylor series. We get a continuous expression of the volume free energy with density's spatial-derivatives limited at the second order ...
