Self-assembled indium phosphide nanowires [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
This thesis deals with the self-assembled vapor-liquid-solid (VLS) growth and properties of InP nanowires, concentrating mainly on the novel catalyst-free growth of InP nanowires using in situ deposited indium droplets as seeds in metalorganic vapor ...

Skin‐Like Tri‐Modal Sensors Based on Soft Piezoelectric and Ionic Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Inspired by the multimodal perception of human skin, a soft, skin‐like tri‐modal sensor is presented. The device incorporates an ionically conductive, piezoelectric, elastic composite as its active layer, enabling independent detection of temperature, static strain, and dynamic strain within a single two‐terminal architecture.

Galinstan Liquid Metal/Polyurethane Composite as a Multifunctional Stretchable Electrode and Piezoresistive Strain Sensor With Minimal Drift

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Liquid metal additives are processed in elastomer host resulting in highly conductive and stretchable composites. The material functions as a piezoresistive sensor with minimal drift, low stiffness, and enhanced operating range. The film can replace wires to charge a mobile phone at ∼350% strain and monitors bodily motion in real‐time via a portable ...

Molecular dynamics simulations of the elastic properties of CdSe nanowires

open access: yes上海师范大学学报. 自然科学版, 2012
In this paper,we present an investigation on the elastic properties of CdSe nanowires by using molecular dynamics simulation. The results show that the Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio of CdSe nanowires will decrease with increasing radius and the ...

Reconnaissance Peptide Labeling Grain Boundary of Chemically Grown MoS2 Polycrystalline Monolayer

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Self‐assembled peptides on substrates, through adsorption and aggregation, offer an alternative way to label grain boundaries in chemically grown single‐layer polycrystalline MoS2. During an early nucleation step, peptides preferentially bind to grain boundaries.

Enhancing Small Molecule Sensing With Aptameric Functionalized Nano Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Unveiling an ultra‐sensitive, non‐invasive neurotransmitter sensor. For the first time, a nanoscale sensor for detecting an important neurotransmitter was demonstrated using micro‐electromechanical systems (MEMS) technology. Our approach utilized field‐effect transistor (FET)‐based readout to enable pico‐molar detection of biomarkers in sweat.

Raman scattering from GaP nanowires

open access: yes, 2005
A complete Raman study of GaP nanowires is presented. By comparison with the Raman spectra of GaP bulk material, microcrystals and nanoparticles, we give evidence that the Raman spectrum is affected by the one-dimensional shape of the nanowires.

Atomic Layer Deposition Seeded ZnO Nanowires in Hybrid Carbon Fiber Composites: Synthesis, Characterization and Multifunctionality [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Interfacial treatments of carbon fiber composites play a critical role in determining the overall performance as the surface of carbon fiber is smooth and inert causing low bonding to the polymer matrix. In this dissertation, atomic layer deposition (ALD)
